Donald Bain

B.R.M.N.A. is run by Donald M. Bain and William S. Cruickshanks who have both been active in railway modelling for most of their lives. Both came to Canada from Scotland in the 1960s - Don to work as a Geologist with Mobil and PanCanadian, Bill to be a banker with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. They met in the 1970s through model railroading and coincidentally Don commenced work with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce soon afterwards. Unfortunately, we never worked in the same departments!

Both are now retired from their main careers but have elected to branch out into new areas as though running a publishing company were not enough! Bill is CEO of the company planning the high-speed rail link between Calgary and Edmonton. Don retired as a Realtor in 2001 after an accident, and now spends much of his time writing and running B.R.M.N.A.
